In my engineering career at a start-up and then at a Fortune 100, I lacked the soft skills and as a result, struggled so much. I was in the top 5% of performers on my team, and held top industry certifications (CCIE, PMP) but I was still not advancing to the next level.
Now I know the lack of effective communication, confidence, mindset and leadership skills held me back.
